AGUA POR FAVOR
Yo Yo coming to you live for blog 5 from the Balearia ferry somewhere in the Mediterranean going from Ibiza to Denia. This thing is massive and I believe this is my first time on one. Peaceful ride much better than a plane and they have a nice little terrace area out the back if you need some fresh air.

Our final destination is Valencia via bus but for now I’ll recap yesterday, which ended up being my favourite time on the island (I’m leaving the u’s in favourite, neighbourhood, etc. I bought this beat up laptop I’m writing with on eBay and it was used in Britain so everything autocorrects and I will not change it in solidarity with the previous owner. Kind of fitting as well.).
We took a bus to the old town area Dalt Vila and immediately when we were dropped off you looked upon a hilltop village with an ancient fortress at the top.

I could make out the cannons right away and turns out it was where we were headed. The fortress was completed in the year 1250 and they now have built fancy shops and cafes into the old stone. The juxtaposition is unreal and must-see.

The entire village is tiny streets and passageways which doesn’t stop vans and motorcycles from driving erratically, but makes for a unique architectural tour. We made it to the top sweating, felt bad for the girls in flip flops as it was muuuuch steeper than expected.

We kept it pushing though, and water is even harder to come by there then where we were staying on the other side of the island. It’s not drinkable or readily available for purchase in the old town and the shops let you know it. So while we were sweating it all out, we were getting to the top of the desert but the views were worth it.

Side tangent, water has to be purchased everywhere in Europe which is no bueno for a water buffalo like myself. If there’s one statement that sums up my trip so far it’s “NECESITO MAS AGUA SIN GAS”. Especially here in ibiza where the tap can’t be consumed, I’m keeping Font Vella in business. Might have to tally up the final total spent on agua in the end, i’d it’ll be easily in the hundreds, maybe even a g. Let me know if interested in finding out….
Back to your regularly scheduled programming…..
We then explored the rest of the scenery and enjoyed lunch at a place called Coco’s Kitchen for some fantastic tapas and people-watching.

It was more stepping and seeing in the village for another couple hours before heading back to the hotel. This blog is forcing me to take way more pictures than I normally would which I am happy to have. When I know i’ll want to write about something I remember to take a pic. I need to up my video game though, as there have been some entertaining scenes. The people-watching in Ibiza was unbelievable.
Chilled out after that long day in the sun then we had a group dinner at a Thai place called Es Verro. Crispy Bangkok chicken was phenomenal and the sunset was better when the last one. As a wise man once told me (James), ya need a touch of clouds to make the perfect set.

I went out with a squad for a while last night to this divey club called Ibiza Rocks Bar where a British guy playing acoustic singing Don’t Look Back in Anger drew us in. He had a full choir with him. The Brits are louder than the Americans over here and I can hear them from a block away. It was a funny nightcap singing along with them. (Ibiza bathroom pic)

Alright enough rambling, birds play today right? Go birds. I’ll check back in when I feel like it.
