Yo I'm Traveling.

Yo I'm Traveling.
Most OVERRATED landmark in Paris. Just me and the instagram girls doing our thing. Why am i licking my lips?

Yo what's going on? If you're here now I'm going to assume you're coming from Tuckedito. This site still has all of our posts from the bowtie business blog. If you're from the future and have no idea what that is check out the archive links at the end of this post. A quick explainer for those from the future: Tuckedito was a food truck and catering company that my brother and I ran for the past 4 years together, the first business I co-owned (but won't be the last), and we made mexican food. With that I'll keep it moving...

Alright, on to why we're here. Travel blogs are so overdone by this point that it feels hilarious to even think about writing one. Guess what? I don't care and I'm doing it anyway and am prepared to be roasted. Actually, I would prefer it, I could use some more good back and forth banter in my life. The main reason I want to write about my travels is because they're going to be sick, way cooler than any insta pics or euro blog you've seen/read in the past.

No, for real, it's because I want to hold myself accountable to something productive (kinda) with my time over there besides adventuring, drinking, sightseeing, and socializing. Writing feels productive. I think it's therapeutic. I also want to capture my memories in a tangible way that I can look back on. I've always been a memory hoarder and sentimental softie, and I feel like I have to make the most of this type of trip. Plus my mom wants to see pics from the trip and I already told her I’d make an instagram so now I have to. I can’t promise above average photography or exactly how often I'll write, but I'll do what I can when I can.

I'm looking to document how I'm feeling in the moment when seeing historic sights, going to a fútbol (yeah that's right) game, meeting cool strangers, and embarrassing myself in a foreign land regularly. I think I'm most excited for the characters I'll meet along the way. That part was great to experience with family my only other time in Europe back in April of this year. Like this guy Steven (below) who we met at an ancient pub serving beers by candlelight (cafe 1614), who runs a factory that makes cheese and clogs. Not sure why i'm scared out of my mind.

So that and the food and drink of course. I like the historic sights, but not really a museum guy or the type to wait in long lines (but thanks if you've ever waited an hour for a taquito, i love you, you psycho).

Where exactly am I going? It feels like I've said this itinerary aloud a zillion times, but country-wise starting in Spain, from there it's 3 cities in Italy, up to Switzerland, Germany for Oktoberfest, a quick pop to Austria, and finishing in the Cotswolds and London proper. Part of it (10 days) with a travel service, part of it with friends (20 days) and part of it alone (6 days). Any recommendations you have for any of these place feel free to send them my way! I'm pumped to be going but not as pumped as you must be to read these lovely streams of consciousness.

No idea where this thing will go once this trip is over, but I do know that the act of writing takes me to unexpected places in a similar way to how life does. So with that, i'll keep it moving, see ya in Spain.
